i think many people forget that the decision to don the hijab is much different than being subject to laws which require women to wear a burqa in public. The difference is that women subject to the latter are threatened with rape, torture, and death if they do not wear the burqa. Because of this, people are quick to marginalize women who choose to remain veiled for their religion.
